about

Extracted from the sublime 'Stepping Up In Time' album from Jamaican vocal trio The Jays, 'Zion Holy Place' first appeared in 2009 as the b-side of the 'Don't Sell Your Soul', a 45 pressed in Jamaica at 100 copies only… but this flipside was not the original version, instead a jazz rework had taken its place, and it was that same jazz version you could hear on the album released digitally at the end of march, 2013, entirely produced by Frenchman extraordinaire Grant Phabao: a spiritual gospel/jazz piece on which the Jamaican church-infused harmonies of The Jays fit like a glove!
