'C.F.A. Music' is the second single extracted from Franck Biyong & The Diamane Bantu Messengers' album, 'Ki I Ye Yi', featuring the beautiful voice of Swala Emati, singer for Les Frères Smith, who balances with class the deep growls of Franck Biyong on a classic Afrolectric beat, fusing Afrobeat with Blaxploitation Funk.
Franck Biyong is a Cameroonian musician, composer and singer. In 2010 he started collaborating with Paris DJs' afrobeat experts Grant Phabao and Djouls, who picked his amazingly original single 'Fe Bain' for their compilation 'Dis Is good For You - Tropical Grooves and Afrofunk International', released in october 2012.
His latest album 'Ki I Ye Yi' is a rare treat in the current Afro revival, blending the lost big band Central Africa tradition of the church choirs, national orchestras or military bands, with the urban 70s funk & afrobeat sound of the Paris Djs production powerhouse.
The core of this album's appeal is its effervescent interplay between roots driven beats and arrangement overdrive. On 'C.F.A. Music', hectic horns enhance a description of the gritty chaos of Franck Biyong's home, a criticism of the neocolonial realities of our times, still ruling all over Africa today.
Exclusive b-side 'Troublou (West Indies Uprising Version)' is an Alternate version of the underground hit 'Anywhere Trouble'.
