Pidgin, from Norman, USA, are characterized by their psychedelic approach to Afro-soul! It was Martin Smith from ©© Les Freres Smith who brought their album to us while co-curating the previous Paris DJs compilation, 'Rise Of The Troubadour Warriors', but we preferred to keep it under wraps for this Electric selection, where the opening track from their first album works like a charm.

About Pidgin :
The sound of this band is BIG. Pidgin brings a heavy-hitting rhythm section of drums, bass, and percussion that collides with psychedelic guitar, all underneath a powerful horn section. Often described as 'bootyshakingmania', the songs that comprise their first album 'The Breaks' could provide an entire soundtrack for a seventies-era car chase scene, or any Guy Ritchie movie. If you enjoy instrumental music, rich with technical composition and soul-grinding rhythm, then 'The Breaks' is for you.
